Lorne Peterson was a model maker for Industrial Light & Magic and one of its founding members. He was hired by George Lucas to help create the models for the first Star Wars movie and his signature is evident on nearly every model used in the original trilogy.

He work can be seen on films such as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Jurassic Park, Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean, Hulk, War of the Worlds, Men in Black, Galaxy Quest ,Willow, Hook and so many more

He won Best Visual Effects for his work on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He wrote a book called "Sculpting a Galaxy".
