Star Wars: A New Hope
Tim Donaldson played one of the Jawas from Star Wars: A New Hope. At 5 years of age, he was the youngest actor in this movie
He started kindergarten in the fall of 1976 in the Death Valley elementary K-8 school. He was in the right place, at the right time. In January 1977 Lucas Film (George Lucas, Gary Kurtz, and a few others) arrived in Death Valley to film pick up shots for the Tatooine scenes. Lucas recruited 8 individuals that were the appropriate height to be cast as Jawa’s. One of these was Tim Donaldson. Two days were spent being fitted in costume and filming our scenes in various locations within Death Valley National Monument. He consequently is the youngest cast member of Star Wars Episode IV.
